I happily discovered a new band a few weeks ago. I admit that I've become pretty much obsessed with them. I think it's because I can actually play a few of their songs on the bass and they're a pretty bass-heavy band. I'd say the bass guitar is almost a lead instrument and I love it.
The band is Muse. I first heard them on the Watchmen preview (#2). At first I thought it was Radiohead. Then I looked it up and it turned out to be Muse.
I've been listening to Black Holes and Revelations on heavy rotation for the last week. I'm almost afraid I'll wear the CD out. If anyone knows about these guys let me know how you feel about them.

I recommend their album "Origin of Symmetry." They're a good group. I saw them live in 2003 at DTE, they were on one of the small stages by the parking lot. Not many people in the crowd, bc they hadnt really made it huge then, so I was way up front looking at all their crazy sound gear. keyboard dude has an out-of-control set-up. Try to download their song "New Born" - some say its sort of a newer brand of rock opera. it's pretty sweet.
Fun fact: Stephanie Meyer (author of the Twilight Saga) says that they are her favorite band, they inspire her writing, and she puts them in the acknowledgment section of every novel.
My cousin Tom is a pretty big Muse fan. They're one of his favourites. I'm sure I'd like them more if I spent some time actually listening to them. I don't dislike what I have heard, though.
i am a fan of the song they used for 28 weeks later, besides that havent really taken a listen. however, i do have their discography around somewhere
